Experienced leaders
Develop a personal leadership that thrives in an increasingly complex world
“I will use the word magical, because this has been a magical experience to me. I feel like I have left an entirely different space than the one I entered earlier”
- Peter Bastrup, CEO, Greenland Travel
Target group
We invite a group of experienced leaders into an exclusive, and intensive transformation programme. Within, we create a space of trust which enables you and other participants to open up about fundamental dilemmas in your own leadership. Through 'learning by doing', we help expand the participants' awareness of their own leadership practices and repertoire of transformative approaches.
Throughout the course, you and the other participants will work with action learning in everyday life, which ensures integration into your real-life challenges by continuously asking:
This programme is practice-driven, rather than theory-driven. By "living" through, and working with real-life management dilemmas, the manager solves new development steps in practice.
“Which managerial challenge requires an immediate development of yourself and your leadership to overcome it, here and now?”
Format of the programme
All modules include targeted, professional presentations from our consultants. The main emphasis is on practical training and the development of experience-based understanding, where you integrate your learning through lived experiences. Training specifically, takes place through you working with your own dilemmas, role-playing and direct supervision of your teams’ 'live' development.
We also use the dynamics that arise between the participants in the training teams as a laboratory to develop our own understanding of action options.
The modules will also provide opportunities for sparring and reflection on your own action-learning in everyday life, just as there will be an opportunity to reach an increased degree of self-insight by working with your own relational patterns and themes.
There will be a maximum number of participants of 16 people to ensure intimacy, intensity, and sufficient time to focus on each individual.
The programme extends over a period of 8 months and consists of 5 modules

The five modules - Programme content

4. Organisations of the future - Study trip to the Netherlands: This module is a study trip to some of the most progressive and successful companies in the Netherlands, each of which represents a suggestion for the organisations of the future.
5. Integration and sustainable leadership: Module 5 is about integrating your learning and the level of functional ability that you are now capable of, as well as getting ready for your further development after the course.
-
As an introduction to the course, you will have a 1:1 conversation with a coach from re:lead, where together, you create clarity about your current situation as a leader, and what is on your personal leadership development agenda.
The first module is about connecting with yourself, with your calling in practising leadership, and with the other leaders alongside whom you will develop. You will go through a series of exercises that strengthens your contact with your own resources, your personal patterns of action and the deeper layers of meaningfulness. We focus on the most important leadership challenges that you face in your everyday life, and the development that this calls for in you and your leadership.
Over the course of three days, you will experience how you and the other participants develop a high level of trust and authenticity, and you will be assigned a dedicated buddy team for the rest of the course. Their aim is to challenge, and support you in your own development. Similarly, this group dynamic trains you in the art of promoting development in others.
You will strengthen your practical knowledge of self-esteem vs. self-confidence, work with dilemmas regarding integrity vs. collaboration, developmental relations and teams, personal purpose, personal narratives as well as mindfulness and action-learning. All of this should act as an accelerator for your further development.
Towards the next module, you practise with experiments and observations in your everyday life, supported by your sparring group. We ensure that this group gets off to a good start with a supervised group session.
-
Prior to the start of module 2, we conduct a 1:1 interview, which aims to uncover your so-called ‘growth-edge’ profile. This will reveal through which meaning-making and structural lenses you view your reality, and your leadership through.
In the module, we review Prof. Robert Kegan's model of the five stages of personal transformation and their significance in leadership, upon which the growth-edge profile is based. Each stage introduces a new way of viewing oneself and the world – and thus new ways of finding meaning and direction. The insight into these stages will give you new perspectives on how to best adapt your leadership to the different world-views that you encounter in others.
During the module, you will also have the opportunity to have a dedicated session where we put one of your most important management challenges at the centre of a group sparring session. You will receive training in 'Immunity to Change' as a tool to overcome the challenges in regard to the development that you experience in yourself and in others.
Up until the next module, you and your buddy team train this approach in relation to concrete management challenges in your everyday life - and we follow up with a supervised buddy team session.
-
You will gain practical knowledge on how to transform a team in order to reach the next level of performance. You will get an exterior perspective on this when your buddy team examines your team dynamics, while the rest of the team act as supporters and observers.
You gain insight into your own tendencies and patterns, as well as your ability to take natural leadership in self-organised groups. In addition to this, you will strengthen your ability to support other groups in their development.
In this module, you will also have the opportunity to try your hand at the role of 'coach' and interlocutor for other managers. Of course, this happens under the direct supervision of our coaches.
Up until the next module, you include your new insights and transformative practices in everyday life, where relevant for your management development, as well as the teams of which you are part of.
-
Study trip to the Netherlands
Before beginning module 4, you will have a 1:1 session with a re:lead coach where you get the opportunity to spar about what concerns you the most at this stage in your development.
Module 4 is a study trip to some of the most progressive and successful companies in the Netherlands, each of which represents a suggestion for the organisations of the future. You will experience how it is possible to manage companies without using the classic management pyramid and the associated management tools - but by liberating commitment, opinion, freedom and responsibility from all members of the organisation. This requires new approaches, processes and structures – and you will see and experience them 'live'.
You get extensive knowledge of concepts such as 'teal', 'deliberately developmental organisations', 'holacracy', 'agile', 'b-corps' and many more.
After the study trip, we have a supervised group session on how to translate the progressive ideas you see into relevant measures that you can test and experiment with at home in your own organisation.
-
As preparation for module 5, we ask you to look back on the course, by revisiting the insights and experiences you have gained along the way, which are thoroughly documented in your personal learning library.
Module 5 is about integrating your learning and the level of functional ability that you are now capable of, as well as preparing you for further development, after the course. To support this, you will receive direct feedback and "mirroring" in abundance from your teammates, and will have the opportunity to express your development and anchor it in yourself, so that you can hold on to your development, and expand on it in the future.
Throughout the module, we further expand the horizons of your leadership with a presentation on sustainable leadership in the age of the UN’s global goals. We try hard with the exercise to translate SDG* into Sustainable Development Going-forward, for you, your organisation and the society that you are a part of. In a complex and global age like ours, everything is connected - and that is precisely the challenge we all face in our leadership.
